Worship is a lifestyle.

We believe that worship at WMC is about making a choice everyday to glorify our God in everything that we do and say. “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”. (Colossians 3:17)

It is not just a Sunday experience, where we sing songs, say prayers and listen to a good message from the preacher of the day. It is about living out the messages we hear and aligning ourselves with His Kingdom purposes. As the Lord’s Prayer says, “Thy Kingdom come and Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”.

We encourage personal and corporate worship times. Each individual needs to have a personal relationship with God, but we also know that if individuals do not meet with the Christian family, they will struggle to keep this relationship going. Nicky Gumbel teaches in the Alpha Course that it is difficult for a coal to stay alight when it is separated from the rest of the fire. It will eventually die. Hebrews 10 verse 25 says, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching”.

At WMC we also encourage all our members to find a place to use their spiritual gifts as an act of worship. If involvement in the areas under the worship ministry banner is your gifting, then we would love to help you get involved in some way. Possible areas of involvement are: Singing, playing a musical instrument, operating the sound system, making banners, involvement in dramas and skits, dancing, creative AV, flower arranging, intercession and prayer counseling. We would encourage you to speak to those who lead these ministries and they would gauge where you could best use your particular gift(s).

We strive for excellence, but also encourage maximum involvement, so that people are constantly growing in their particular areas and so that there is always someone available when others leave and there is a gap.

There are at present 10 music teams which take turns serving in the Church. We try to use everyone, but will help you to find another area of involvement if we discern that this particular ministry is not your area of gifting.
